You’re invited to a private opening to Threads of Light: Stories, Legacy, & Innovation. Threads of Light is a youth-powered exhibition showcasing original works created through the Children’s Museum of Montgomery Winter/Spring Residency, led by Cecilia Garnier, M.Ed. This collection represents the creativity, voice, and innovation of Montgomery students across three signature workshops: “Stitched Stories” – featuring textile works by Capital Heights 8th graders and Percy Julian art students, inspired by G's Bend, heritage, identity, and storytelling “Light, Legacy & Innovation” – featuring illuminated STEM-based artworks by Seth Johnson 3rd graders, honoring Black innovators through circuitry and design “Sustainable Fashion” – featuring wearable art by the Percy Julian Fashion Club, transforming recycled materials into bold expressions of creativity and sustainability.
